St Vincent's Health Australia is the name by which many of the St Vincent's hospitals operate under in Australia. They are in two distinct group those being private and public hospitals. It's Australia's largest Catholic not for profit health and aged care provider with branches across Australia. It provides clinical, research and education services across many sectors in private hospitals, public hospitals and aged care services in New South Wales, Victoria and QLD. It was founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1857 and has been providing compassionate, quality health and aged care to the Australian community for many years. The first ever hospital opened was in Sydney. Their founder, Mary Aikenhead wanted to reach out to all those in need of care, especially the poor. Education was always at the forefront even since the beginning and it has pioneered it's way into becoming Australia's largest health service provider.
